Mother Goose Curriculum
As we begin to prepare children for success in elementary school, middle school, high school, and beyond, it is extremely important to educate the whole child. The whole-child approach to education is one in which children develop skills beyond math and literacy, but also social-emotional, physical, and cognitive skills. These skills are developmentally appropriate for children ages birth to five. When choosing a curriculum, we kept this research in mind. The curriculum that was chosen for all children in the program is Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Twos and well as Creative Curriculum for Preschool.
What is Creative Curriculum?
Creative Curriculum is one of the most widely used curricula for birth through age five in the nation. It is comprehensive, research- based, research- proven, and it allows exploration and discovery as a way of learning. It helps teachers to create high-quality learning environments and support a deep understanding of Early Childhood best practices, theories, and research. It provides teachers with instructional tools and materials to engage children in project-based investigations, hands on learning experiences, and application of skills that make every moment of each day meaningful, intentional, and engaging.
Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG) is the assessment tool coupled with Creative Curriculum. This tool allows teachers and families to review student progress, determine at-home strategies, and improve individualized learning links back to the curriculum. As we observe children during activities, we consistently and consciously add photos, videos, and descriptions of learning as it occurs. In this way, we can gather information and then automatically tailor learning opportunities for each child. Using TSG, we can track your child’s development over time and create an online portfolio that outlines performance, where work is needed, and what your child has mastered! With this tool, we will generate reports and share these reports with you to enhance your involvement and take your child’s learning to higher levels. What we like best about TSG and Creative Curriculum is the ability to use them together to individualize instruction for your young learner.
